There are many access points for this trail, though many will access the trail from the Pony Pasture parking lot, located on the northwestern end of the park. There are lots of offshoots and small footpaths that branch off from the main trail, which allows for plenty of variety. It is easy to get lost of you're not paying attention, so keep your wits about you.

The park is popular, and you'll be sharing the trail with runners, hikers, and those with their dogs, especially when the weather is warm. There are some river views along the way, making this an enjoyable Richmond area trail.
