This trail begins just over a half-mile into the Hanging Rock Trail, which you can access from the main parking area at the Visitor Center. The trail follows the ridge and featured intermittent views of the NC Piedmont. At 0.8 miles, the trail reaches Wolf Rock, an overlook with interesting quartzite rock formations and extensive views. Both Winston-Salem and Greensboro can be seen in the distance from this overlook. The trail continues to Wolf Gap and ends at the trail junction with the Cooks Wall Trail.
