Description
The beginning of this trail starts off the
Buck Hollow Trail just after you have crossed two streams via large boulders. You'll make a left at the trail junction and shortly cross a third stream without the benefit of large boulders. Just past this final stream crossing, the trail begins an abrupt ascent utilizing rocks, logs and dirt made stairs. The aggressive ascent continues until you reach the beginning of the Buck Ridge.
The trail proceeds along the ridge and continues to rise in elevation, but at a much easier rate.
The entire trail is an absolutely beautiful mixture of views, forestation, and wild flowers. The trail finally terminates at the Hazel Mtn Trail just a short distance to the Meadow Spring Parking Area.
It is highly recommended that you take a right on the Hazel Mtn Trail until you reach the
Buck Hollow Trail. You can return back to your starting point using the
Buck Hollow Trail to descend back into the valley, which provides new views and gentle grades.
