This short loop located off of Mesa Top Ruins Rd. gives visitors a glimpse into the life of the Ancestral Pueblo people who lived in this area for about 200 years prior to even beginning construction on the Mesa Verde cliff dwellings. A densely populated area from from A.D. 900 to about A.D. 1300, nearly 50 villages have been uncovered in the area, which were home to hundreds of people.
