Description

This trail begins 0.2 miles in along the Gorham Mountain Trail at a historical plaque honoring Waldron Bates, who helped build many of Acadia's trails using stone stairs and iron rungs. The trail follows granite ledges along cliffs and next to an ancient sea cave. Along the way, you'll pass under two huge rock slabs leaning against the cliff face. After traversing several large rocks, use two iron rings to reconnect with the Gorham Mountain Trail.
