Description

Scott Canyon starts as a wide fire road with many side trails and variations available. All along the trail, there are other large trails. Most will lead you back to the parking area, but it's just a matter of how long it will take. You'll want to take a look at the trail map at the beginning of the trail to familiarize yourself with some of the major trails.

Expect to encounter other hikers/walkers/runners, dogs, mountain bikers, and occasional moto riders. As with any multi-purpose trail, most users are aware and courteous but some are not, so be aware of your surroundings.

If you are running with a dog, be aware that some hikers/bikers have dogs off leash. Also, as mentioned above, you may encounter rattlesnakes, coyotes, and other wildlife.

Flora & Fauna

You will often see red tail hawks circling, hummingbirds, other small birds.
As you get away from the parking lot, you may see/hear rattlesnakes, coyotes, wild burros.
