Dogs Leashed
Description
The Horse Trail can be accessed by either running from Foy's Lake Road, eventually turning to a singletrack climb with switchbacks after it passes the sledding hill. Or by running out either
Family Trail or the
Direct Route and neglecting the signed turns that send those trails up the hill.
If you enter from Foy's Lake Road, the trail really starts with four steeper switchbacks to gain a little vertical status. Once you hit the top you'll connect with what started as the
Direct Route. Stay left and get through another 50m of climbing and you'll pass the Horse Trail/Plum Creek connector on your right. At this point, stay left.
This is a short descent followed by short climb until the trail hangs a right and then a left as it winds around some private property. Eventually, you'll find yourself at a doubletrack intersection. Right goes to the Scary Stump/Plum Creek Rd. while taking a left continues along the Horse Trail.
This section remains doubletrack, you'll head up a short climb, followed by a short descent over a little less than a half mile. You'll come across a hairpin right-hand turn before you hit a large gate. Take this right, climb a little more, then you'll shoot out on Plum Creek Rd.
