“A trail that scurries the side of a hill with spectacular views of Crested Butte and the mountains.”

No parking allowed on Saddle Ridge road.
This trail was created with mountain bikers in mind, so keep an ear open for them. There are not many blind corners, so this shouldn't be too difficult.
Park at the northwest trailhead. There is no parking at the southwest trailhead. Or do it as a shuttle.
The trail starts as a singletrack then turns into a doubletrack, then back to singletrack. You'll pass over a handful of cattle guards along the way. The trail is mostly in open fields with little tree cover, but every once in a while you'll go through a grove of aspen. Views of the Slate River Valley are stunning with blooming Lupine and various other flowers in summer.
