Dry, Fallen Trees: Good hike, though it was pretty dry. Didn’t get to explore the cave, so we’ll have to go back soon. History

Overview

One of the best trails around. Has amazing limestone cliff faces and waterfalls.

Runner Notes

The closer you get to the walls the the smaller and tighter the trail gets making it difficult for multiple runners to use it at once.

Description

Opposite of most trails, you initially descend into the valley and climb out on the return.

This is the only trail around so it would be hard to get lost. There are some Horse trails that cross it but they are easily distinguishable. You'll cross two creeks, Hurricane and Turkey respectively, via log bridges, before following Turkey Creek to the Walls of Jericho.

The walls are high cliff limestone cliff faces from the creek bed and narrow to a natural amphitheater. Depending on the rainfall there are multiple waterfalls and good places of some swimming there as well.

Ran down to the walls then back up some to meet family hiking. Then ran up to the start and back down some to meet family hiking on the way back. 8mi
