The upper portion can be snowbound until April or May.
The start of this trail is off of the Stack Rock Trail
at the large dead tree. If you see the Mr. Big
turnoff you've gone too far. The trail descends on steep and loose switchbacks to start until you get down into Daniels Creek. Once in the creek bottom, the trail weaves down the drainage. The trail can get very narrow in sections with a drop off into the creek.
Eventually, you'll come out on a road. Turn right up the road for about a 1/4 mile and then bear left back on the trail. From here, the trail descends steeply and then climbs to a flat and extremely rocky section. There will be a large dip where it's key to stay left. Continue to stay left at any of the faint trails as you continue the descent. Finally, the trail will bear left and climb up to Bogus Basin Road.
A permanent easement agreement was recently signed between the landowner and the city of Boise. This will result in some of the rutted sections getting some much-needed attention!
