Overview

This is a moderately strenuous run over the eastern shoulder of Mont Tremblant and back. Enjoy the beauty of the Qubcois forest and fleeting views of Tremblant village.

Runner Notes

A section of exposed rock can be slick in wet weather. It's located halfway down the descent to the south side.

Description

Access the start of the trail at the far northeast corner of the parking lot. The trail takes an immediate dip down and comes to a fork. Stay left, and begin your climb. In the first mile, you weave in and out of the road which runs to some lodging and homes. Like the entire trail, this section is mildly technical with loose gravel mixed with dirt singletrack.

As you make your way up the hill, after the final road crossing, you'll have one last chance to look back over Mt. Tremblant Village when you travel a brief distance through a ski slope. The trail stays to the right and reenters the woods. This is a nice spot for a photo if you like.

The rest of your climb is in the woods, with no respite. The trail is well marked and carved. At the peak of this trail, you'll come to a larger trail sign and "T" in the road. The trail to the left takes you to the summit of Mt. Tremblant. Stay straight.

From here you'll begin your descent. There is one section to note - if it's wet you'll want to slow down at one stretch that has large rock faces partially exposed with moss covering. It's as steep down the hill as it was going up. Take caution.

At the end of the trail, you come to the south side ski lodge and lift. However, it isn't in operation out of season, so turn around and head home.

Happy trails.
