Need to Know

This trail is subject to a USFS seasonal closure from 5/6 - 6/30 to protect deer and elk during calving season

Description

Start next to the Lower Beaver Creek Express lift and follow doubletrack up an open grassy ski run with some switchbacks. The trail soon becomes mostly singletrack and enters aspen forest for the remainder of the way. The gradient is steady and climbs gradually across a hillside. Run through shady woods next to neighborhoods and finally pop out at one last ski run which must be surmounted by running up a series of tight switchbacks.

The Elkhorn Trail a good option for ascending up to the Village to Village Trail. Elkhorn is also a great way down from the mountain at the end of your day, and convenient if you parked at the Elk or Bear lot. Note: bikes are allowed on this trail.
