Description
From the trailhead, begin the descent on
Bull Run (Magnificent 7 Trail). It takes you on the canyon rim and through the sage and pinon pines. Your views straight ahead are of the La Sal Mountains. To the left (northeast) you'll see Monitor and Merrimac, two mesa's that look like battleships. The trail crosses a few 4WD roads before ending at a junction with
Getaway Trail and Arths Trail, and
Great Escape Trail.
Take the left onto the
Getaway Trail and run through the sagebrush before beginning the ascent back up onto slickrock. The trail has some cool rock features for running on and around. Enjoy 360-degree views of the surrounding desert above Moab. After mile 10, you'll be back on
Gemini Bridges Road. Follow the road back to the trailhead where you began!
Flora & Fauna
You'll see a lot of sagebrush, jack rabbits and cactus!
