“An alternate return from longer loops on more popular trails.”
— Nicholas Shannon
Watch for loose rock on this trail's initial ascent.
Wrangler Loop starts out as an old doubletrack and rises up slightly rocky trail several hundred feet.
Once you've worked your way up the hill, the trail becomes singletrack and much smoother. You are quite a bit higher than most other trails in this area, and the views are great, despite not being on the rim's edge. Mary's Cutoff
intersects Wrangler Loop here, but you've made it this far, and it's worth staying on this trail for the extended enjoyment.
Wander along smooth trail until you reach Mary's Loop
, where a multitude of options arise if you're not ready to turn back.
