This is a smooth track with good footing - a great running trail.

Flagstaff Walkway starts at the Bull Ring carpark and traverses through flax and tussock grass toward the summit of Flagstaff. An easy run to the high point is rewarded with outstanding scenery with views extending up and down along the coast, including the city of Dunedin.

Beyond the summit, the views continue as the track rolls along the broad summit ridge. The Flagstaff Walkway ends at "Pineapple Junction", where signs point the way down to Booth Road via the Pineapple Track or north and uphill to Swampy Summit.
