Description
From the
Grand Pass Trail, head eastwards toward Grand Lake. From the junction by the lake, head north, left, over a log bridge. This will take you to the north side of the lake offering great views back towards the lake. The first part of this run will be going through a lush forest; after almost two miles, you'll cross the creek. From here you'll begin the slow climb.
After almost 2.3 miles, you'll trade the forest for lush meadows with great wildflowers. From here you'll get great views of the surrounding mountains. Then you'll dip into and out of trees until you reach the junction with
Elk Mountain Trail, at almost 3.4 miles.
For the last mile, you'll be climbing continuously out of the the valley. Eventually, you'll reach the junction with
Obstruction Point-Deer Park Trail. From here, head left to get to Obstruction Point Trailhead.
