The trail seems to drop off the edge at the top of the switchbacks that are not visible just ahead. The switchbacks go down to the New Fork River valley bottom.
A lot of young, healthy lodgepole pines in this regenerating burn area (2008 New Fork fire). Not quite tall enough yet, to block the views of New Fork Lake below, and the Wyoming Range in the distance.
