Morning mist dispersing reveals Mount Aosta and Lower Elk Lake, seen from the shoreline at the campground.
Nearby turquoise Lower Elk Lake at the base of rugged cliffs and mountains, comes into view as Viewpoint Trail climbs.
Lower Elk Lake below. The Elk River Valley stretches into the distance, with its eastern slopes on the far side of it. This is the view from the end of Viewpoint Trail - definitely worth the effort.
