Full of early May snow melt, Wallace Creek is impressive as it cascades below the trail.

Above Kern Canyon (looking southwest) along Wallace Creek close to where it empties into the Kern River, Kern Canyon walls have shrunk dramatically, however the Kern River is still below, out of sight. Some of the Kaweahs are seen in the far distance.

Evening along the Kern River at Junction Meadow trail camp, a lovely place to spend the night.
Looking southwest down the Wallace Creek valley from the trail (right) cut into the rock, there are dramatic views of Red Spur rising above the 3,000 foot cliffs of Kern Canyon ahead.
