Gate at the south entrance to Desert Foothills Land Trust preserve. Turn right after the gate and follow Town of Cave Creek Trail signs
Slate "steps" on the Slate Trail.
Junction with Go John Trail. Make sure you turn left at this junction as the Go John Trail to the north is only for experts.
