You can see fire damage to the sequoia trees along the trail. Some trees are still standing, but others have fallen or are just remains of large trees.
For trees so big, you would expect the cones to be much bigger. However, the sequoia cone can literally fit in the palm of your hand. Fire opens these up and allows the seeds to release and new trees to grow.
Giant Sequoia trees can be seen along the trail. It is amazing to see these trees up close.
