A pretty high meadow, elevation about 10,000 feet., along Highline Trail, with a backdrop of Wind Rivers peaks.
Pole Creek at the start/end of Cook Lake Loop.
Approaching Pole Creek from the south on Highline Trail, high distant mountains come into view.
Angel Pass, at 11,600+ ft is the pass in the center, between Angel Peak, 12,402 ft. to the left, and an unamed peak, 12,367 ft. to the right. All are on the Continental Divide. Taken from the CDT/Fremont Trail in Bald Mountain Basin, west of the Divide.
Cook Lake Loop follows Pole Creek upstream to the first Cook Lake.
Bald Mountain Basin and the mountains to the north are seen from the CDT/Fremont Trail. Mountains left to right - Mt. Lester's two peaks, distant mountains with Titcomb Basin on other side, and ridge of unamed peaks on the northeast side of this Basin..
