Butte Lake is very pretty as Bathtub Trail starts up a hill.

The first little lake is set in the pine forest below Bathtub Lake Trail.
Cinder Cone rises in the distance as the Fantastic Lava Beds come right up to the water. Kayakers, paddleboarders, and fishermen can be seen on the lake.
On the left is a close up look at the black boulders of the Fantastic Lava Beds, as Nobles Emigrant Trail (East) runs next to them. These large boulders were formed by slow cooling lava from Cinder Cone.
