The hike gradually gets steeper as you head up toward Ridgeline. I saw a few mountain bikers and hikers but the trail is far less crowded than the Mormon Trail.

On the back side of this formation, the wash has carved a shallow cave into the rock. You'll see it coming down from the JC trail peak.

Javelina Canyon Trail is quiet and beautiful. Grand Saguaro cacti are frequent providing homes for the many birds.
From Javelina Trailhead UP the Ridgeline Trail to view north and east of the Phoenix Valley. It's worth the steep climb.
