A super-size "Moqui Marble," formed when water deep inside the Navajo Sandstone concentrated the iron oxide (which makes the sandstone red) into harder Hematite (iron ore). Little ones are everywhere on this route.
Hoodoos atop Panorama Point. The black caprock is hematite, formed deep inside the Navajo Sandstone when water dissolved the red iron oxide and concentrated it in a crack.
