Basalt columns above the trail provide a super interesting backdrop.
The eastward-facing view is quite nice as you approach Ancient Lakes.
The south side is a lovely – while deceptively blustery – spot to camp.
Looking across an Ancient Lake to a a couple waterfalls. You can skirt either side of the lake and pass right under the waterfall if desired!
