Lovely sea views abound on the island loop. The lower left area of the photo shows some of the remains of a former marble quarry.
Even as you start the route you are treated to excellent views of Porto Venere! The trail is visible on the left side of the photo and begins the climb just after the raised section.
Stunning views looking back on Porto Venere (San Pietro church at center and Castello Doria on the hill at right) and up towards the Cinque Terre
