These are the old Buena Vista Mine Shaft and Pumphouse ruins.
A seasonal stream runs to the left of New Almaden Trail.
April Trestle is nestled against Mine Hill. April Tunnel (leading into Mine Hill) is at the left end of the trestle. Ore cars rode the trestle.
Santa Isabel mine shaft remains. This shaft was one of several shafts to mine the cinnabar (mercury ore).
A seasonal stream flows nicely in January after some heavy winter rains.
The Mine Hill Trail offers occasional glimpses of the San Francisco East Bay.
January makes for a lovely time to enjoy the Randol Trail.
