The Balconies Trail is sandy in this section, but it is fairly wide and easy to follow.

After Spring rains, a little more water flows in the creek.
The creek in the winter. There isn't a lot of water, but it provides a lot of nourishment for the surrounding vegetation. There is a nice bridge to help cross the water.
The trail skirts the creek for several miles. The North Wilderness Trail criss crosses the creek multiple times via rock hops, so be ready to jump rocks.
The North Wilderness Trail can be sandy in areas as it moves through the old riverbed.
