The trail skirts a narrow hillside with a steep drop-off on the right hand side. It's the trickiest part of the hike, but nothing that can't be conquered.
The creek crossing in the winter when water is running downstream.
The South Wilderness Trail breaks away from the road, and narrows as you can see here.

The narrow trail winds through tall grass in the winter. In the mornings, the grass is wet so make sure you wear appropriate footwear.
