South end of the trail. Arizona evenings can't be beat. Don't let the paved trail fool you - 10-20% grades...coming within a half mile.
About 2/3 way through the hike, at about 1/4 the elevation. Trail goes from gully w/small rocks (here) to a little steeper with larger rocks, pretty quick. The modestly steeper section is only about 400m of hike.
The Pyramid Trail traverses along the ridgeline through typical Sonoran Desert flora.
A view from the top. Intersection with the National and Kiwanis trail - and Summit Rd. A nice bench and some smooth boulders to take a rest.
