Jug Handle Arch [Suggest Edits]

Description

This arch is visible from the road, but easy to miss! On the back side, it doesn't look like much, but it is an enormous arch, turned on its side, granting it the name "Jug Handle Arch". Because of its view from the road, there is no run, so kids (and adults) can just see it from their car.

On the Road: Continue on Highway 191, to downtown Moab. Just before Arches National Park, turn onto Highway 279, better known as Potash Road. Continue down Potash Road past Wall Street (climbing drag on the side of the road), and past the Corona Arch Trail. After making a sharp turn, Jug Handle Arch is visible on the next corner of the road. There is a pullout/parking lot straight after the arch, and access to a 4WD road. Park there and walk back up the road a little ways to photograph the arch. Otherwise, just view it from Potash Road and continue down it, or turn back around and go back the way you came.
