Description
Mason Lake is a beautiful medium-sized lake nestled in the Cascades. When we visited on July 15, it was surprisingly warm water; I would guess it's because it's a shallow lake. The lake is easy to reach by a short run. There were overnight campers around soaking in the scene.
Half-Day Run: It's about 3 miles or so from the trailhead to the lake. The run was not easy, but not hard. A couple boulder fields made for fancy footwork. The lake was walled on the east and south sides by an amazing cliff, and forest was on the north and west sides.
