Twelve Apostles [Suggest Edits]
Description
These incredible rock stacks were formed from the limestone cliffs for which this area is known. The constant eroding forces of the ocean hewed large caves into the cliffside. Eventually, over the course of 10-20 million years, these caves became arches. After more time still, these arches succumbed to the ocean's blasting waves and wind, and collapsed into the 45 meter-high rock stacks that remain today.
Don't miss a sunset view of these giants!
Short Walk: Approximately 275 km from Melbourne, the drive to get here is probably the hardest part. From the visitor facility, it's a short walk to the viewpoints.
