Keller Peak Fire Lookout [Suggest Edits]
Description
This lookout tower was built in 1926 and is the oldest in the San Bernardino National Forest. From here, on a clear day, you can see from the Mojave Desert to Catalina Island! The volunteers are incredibly friendly and happy to answer questions and demonstrate their equipment.
Just below the lookout, along the road, look for the memorial plaque for the WWII aircrew that lost their lives when their B-26 crashed into the peak on Dec. 31, 1941.
On the Road: Located at the end of Keller Peak Road; limited parking; open 9 am-5 pm from Memorial Day to first snow. Can also be accessed by the Exploration Trail for those looking to run to the lookout.
