Description

Beach House Blowout is an incredible example of the power of the wind. A blowout occurs when the wind moves sand inland faster than marram grass and other vegetation can stabilize the dune. Trail 9 hugs the back of the blowout along a narrow sand ridge high above Lake Michigan. The views are incredible.

Short Run: From the Nature Center parking lot, the blowout can be reached via Trail 9. The hike directly to the blowout is a little under a mile. It is recommended to do the entire 3.6 mile trail to get the full experience.
