Description

Mill Creek Falls with a drop of over 70 feet, is the tallest waterfall in Lassen Volcanic National Park. Here, East Sulphur Creek cascades down a steep sided valley, to join with Bumpass Creek that is cascading down another steep valley. Together they plunge over a cliff, forming Mill Creek Falls, and then continue cascading in the valley below as East Sulphur Creek, on their way to join Mill Creek.

Mill Creek Falls is in a rugged scenic area and can be seen from a viewing platform at the end of Mill Creek Falls Trail. Additionally, there is a bridge past the viewing platform, over East Sulphur Creek at the top of the falls where one can watch the creeks plunge over the cliff edge.

Half-Day Run: From the Kohm-Ya-Mah-Nee Visitor Center at the southwest entrance to Lassen Volcanic National Park, hike 1.8 miles into the park on Mill Creek Falls Trail to reach Mill Creek Falls.

From Kings Creek Picnic Area along the park road, take Cold Boiling Lake Trail to Crumbaugh Lake Trail, and then hike Crumbaugh Lake Trail, for a total of 3.3 miles to get to Mill Creek Falls.
