Pine Barrens, Marlboro Meadows, Maryland

Description

A 1000 meter path that encircles this 8-hectare, open pine-filled area, with the dominant tree species being Pinus virginiana (Virginia Pine), Juniperus virginiana (Eastern Red Cedar), Liquidambar styraciflua, (Sweetgum), and Quercus falcata (Southern Red Oak). You can read more about the forests of Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary here.

Short Run: The Blueberry Trail goes along the south side of the Pine Barrens area, with the Pine Barrens Trail providing access to the path that encircles it.
