Description

Starting on the east side by Shelter #2 parking lot, the wide crushed limestone trail takes you through a small open grass prairie. You'll cross over a small bridge and then it opens up to a large grass prairie.

As you run west there is an interpretive sign at trail intersection #5 South Grasslands Trail (Purple Trail Markers), describing the history of how the glacier mounds were created. As you travel on the trail and when you look to the southwest, in the distance you can see the grass mounds.

Finally the trail will end at trail intersection #7 at the Eastwood Trail (Yellow Trail Markers).
