Description

The trail starts at a saddle and five-way intersection with Saddle Camp Road #2109C, North Trail #134, and Alder Springs Trail #64. There is parking here and flat ground to camp if the flys are not too bad from horses.

Start with less than a mile of easy climb to the top of Cannon Ball Mountain. Take a few moments to see the views and you are off like a cannon ball answering gravity's call. The fairly simple route following the ridge down to join Cannon Ball Mountain Trail #55 before it gets too steep. There are some watering holes along the ridge that seem to be man made and will have water in them for the first part of summer. Perhaps on is Sampson Spring?

One side of the trail is High desert with all you would expect and the other side a pine forest. Let your split personality go wild.
