Dogs Unknown

Rob Brook Road is gated and inaccessible to vehicles. Bear Notch Road is closed during the winter.

Need to Know

The upper portion of the Church Pond Loop Trail was flooded by beavers. While this area isn't closed to foot travel, it would be ill advised to venture there.

Due to the Halloween Storm of 2017, many of the bridges have been washed away or moved.

Runner Notes

Watch out for bikers during the summer. Watch out for snowmobilers (around the Sawyer River Trail).

Description

Follow the road to the Forest Service gate. There is limited parking here; please don't park in front of the gate. From here, the Middle Nanamocomuck Trail heads east to end at Bear Notch Road.

The Student Conservation Association (SCA) recently did a bunch of brushsaw work to open up a severely overgrown portion of trail in August 2018. Thanks SCA!

Fungi: Lobster Mushroom, Scaberstalks, Milky Cap, Violet Webcap, Magenta Coral, Russula, Amanita.
Flora: Birch, Beaked Hazelnut, Goldenrod, Wild Raisin, Tawny Cottongrass, Leatherleaf, Blueberries, Red Raspberries, Blackberries, Red Maple, Eastern Hemlock, Beech.
Fauna: Monarchs, Red Squirrel, Grouse.
