This is a short but steep ascent to a great view of Mt. Cook and Tasman Glacier—at least what is left of it, as it is melting fast. The trail has wooden steps for most of the steep sections. About halfway up there is a short spur to the once beautiful blue lakes which now have an algae-covered green appearance.
