The trail is quite easy, however the boardwalk portion of the path is not in very good condition and there are many holes. You'll have to run with caution. I left my car next to a private property just before crossing the river, because my clearance is low. Soon after, there is a trailer of the IEF where you need to register before continuing. There is no entrance fee.

The trail itself is nearly flat and very easy for the until the very end where there is a short, steep climb to reach the waterfall. While not as frequently visited as the other waterfalls in the area, Rabo de Cavalo is still very beautiful and a scenic place to spend an afternoon before returning back the way you came.
