Stop by the park office to pay the $5 day-use fee.
Runner Notes
Although a little sandy in sections, this flat trail is a nice option when combined with the longer Deer Run Trail.
Description
From the park office, head across the road toward the old mill at the south end of Watson Mill Pond. The trail actually starts by heading through the old mill building where you can find some informational placards about the history of the mill and get some nice views of the cypress trees in the water from the mill window.
Once to the other side of the mill, the trail transitions from manicured grass to a more sandy surface before coming to the start/end of the Deer Run Trail which is marked by a sign. Continue stratight ahead on the sandy doubletrack to stay on the Mill Connector Trail. This makes a good option to do figure 8 loops or to make a shorter loop with the Deer Run Trail.
