This trail is open from dusk until dawn. All trails are closed the first 2 days of Pennsylvania's deer-hunting season. The Lookout Trail is the only trail open after these two days for the duration of the hunting season (mid-December).

Runner Notes

This trail is quite rocky! There are a lot of large rocks and roots that may provide trip hazards (but you're trail running so you know these things pop up!)

Description

Follow the Red Blazes for the River of Rocks Trail. You can start on the south side of the Lookout Trail and end on the upper portion of the Lookout Trail. It's about 4 miles total that goes down the mountain and then back up it a bit. There are a lot of rocks to navigate along the way, but they are pretty small. Strollers and the like would not be able to make it.
