Runner Notes

This section of trail is easy to link up to other trails in the area, the Field Campus Trail, that terminates at the Spillway, the Triangle Area Trail at the opposite end or the North Snowmobile or Beach to Dam trails that connect from the other side of the spillway (if you don't mind getting wet). There are also a couple of segments that drop down from the main road cutting through the park, the Wolf Campsite Trail, an Osprey to Cedar Shelter Connector, and an Osprey to Sumac Shelter Connector.

Description

This trail may be the best stretch of trail in the entire MacBride complex. It's a little ribbon of singletrack following the contours of the Coralville Reservoir for about .75 miles just above the 150 year flood level. We know this because just downslope of the trail, the 150 year flood we got in 2008 washed everything else away.

The trail runs from the spillway out to the Triangle Area Trail and there are several wooden planks crossing the gullies that drain this side of the park. There are birds and fauna abundant in the area, but be careful taking your eyes off the trail here.
