Description

From the trailhead, head through one of the gates that is marked "please close gate." After heading though the gate you'll start on the obvious trail up and over a fairly open grassy landscape. The trail will then dip into an area where you are well shaded by Ponderosa Pine trees. Through the trees you'll get glimpses of Hog Canyon Creek.

The trail will continue into a more meadow-like area. Be on the lookout for wildlife. Past this area you'll come to an aspen grove that will change colors depending on the season. From here the trail will curve slightly to the right and down into the Hog Lake Access Site. The trail ends at the access point, and you'll have the option to enjoy the lake, head out on another trail, or head back the way you came.
