The hard packed surface can be slippery on the descents, especially if it is raining. This is best if run as part of the Aviara Oaks Loop.

Description

This trial has steep inclines that offer some challenge. The upper trailhead is well marked off of Ambrosia Ln. The lower trailhead off of Aviara looks like a set of railroad tie stairs. If traveling from North to South, the trail will hit a steep concrete street (Docena Rd) about 0.2 miles in. The trail picks up again on the opposite side, but at the top of the hill.
