Need to Know

In springtime, the runoff can be deceptively calm but turn out to be a real issue in a hurry. Especially at the Middle Fork. There is a reason the trail heads upstream of THE HOLE before crossing. Do not get swept into THE HOLE. Best to avoid it all in spring runoff.

Description

Park near Fir Creek Campground and cross the one and only false hope bridge over Bear Valley Creek. That was it, no more bridges for you. After just 1.3 miles you get to cross that same creek just to cross back over it at the 4-mile mark and again at the 4.25-mile point. These crossings culminate in a grand crossing of the March Creek before joining up at the junction of Marsh Creek Trail #237 and Middle Fork Trail #001 (Big Hole to Marble Creek)
