Overview

The route starts and ends at the Dodgingtown Road entrance and mostly follows the blue trailblazes. The picturesque first mile lulls you into a false sense of security before you meet 'The Sisters' which will test both your footwork and your anaerobic capacity. After a well-deserved downhill section, you must regain your ground up a lengthy yet mild gradient and finally emerge by the lake. The remaining jaunt back to the parking lot will seem a breeze after this grueling trial.

Need to Know

There are restroom facilities at the Dodgingtown Road lot.
There is another lot on Sunset Hill Road if the good lot is at capacity.

Runner Notes

Requires some fast footwork, I would peg the difficulty around 6/10 but I'm not a real trail runner.

Description

Starting at the Dodgingtown Road entrance sign, run down the paved section to the second lot and take the route across and slightly to the left. Following the blue blazes, continue for just a bit over a mile until the route intersects with a large ravine and there is no path across. Go left down the ravine and you'll see the first 'Sister'. After finishing the second 'Sister', take a sharp right turn at the next intersection onto the green trail. Stay right at the following intersection to stay on green. After the slow climb, merge with the red trail briefly and continue straight onto the white trail. Continue straight until this intersects with the blue 'perimeter' trail and the lot is on your right.

Flora & Fauna

Waterfowl are ubiquitous near the lakes, otherwise pretty standard for the region.

History & Background

'The Sisters' are a by-product of some kind of telecommunications function. #NationalizeAT&T
